Team Leader - Judith Henderson

 

Judith Henderson (53) was born in Brisbane but has lived most of her life in Central Queensland. She is married to Craig Edmonston and has two daughters from a previous marriage Janita (27) & Shanna (25) who both work in the accountancy profession in Rockhampton.

Judith recently retired from a land survey business operated by Craig and herself where she was responsible for the survey drafting and business operations aspects.

Judith has been a Rotarian for 13 years and is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. Was Club President of Emerald 1997/98, the year that the Club was recognised at the District Conference with the award of “Best Overall Club of D9570”. Judith was Charter President of her current Club – Emerald Sunrise in 2003/04 continuing as President in 2004/05. She has served D9570 in several positions, including Club Service and Membership Advisor, Editor of the DG Newsletter, on the YEP Committee as well as the 2001 District Conference Organising Committee Chairperson.

Judith main interest in life, apart from family, is helping any worthy cause – mostly through Rotary. She enjoys being outdoors, relaxing at their beach house and making new friends.

David Batt

 

David Batt (36 years) has been married for 15 years to Sharyn and they have two girls, Taleigha aged 9 and Maddelyn aged 6. David was born and bred in Bundaberg Queensland and joined the Queensland Police Force on graduating high school 18 years ago. David spent 13 years as an investigator in the Criminal Investigation Branch. He is currently a Sergeant of Police and the Branch Manager of the Bundaberg Police Citizens Youth Club which is a non profit organization. David’s duties include the day to day running of activities and Crime Prevention Programs as well as fundraising and obtaining corporate sponsors for the club. David is currently a board member of the Across the Waves Sports Club which has 13500 members and 15 sub sporting clubs. Sport has very much played a big part in David’s life including being President of a Rugby League Club for 6 years.  David enjoys all sports but his favourites are Rugby League, Cricket and Golf. David also loves camping and fishing with family and friends as well as enjoying a social beer or two. David’s ambition is to tour around outback Australia in his camper trailer and visit the magnificent off-beat areas the country has to offer.

Tanya O’Shea

 

Tanya (36) is married to Jason, and the proud Mum of two gorgeous children – Jake, 9 and Tailah, 6. Upon leaving school Tanya work for 11yrs at the Westpac Bank before joining IMPACT Make Your Mark in 1999, a community based not for profit organisation with a staff of 90, and a mission of assisting the disadvantaged, unemployed and people with a disability in the community.  After 12 months of working as the receptionist supervisor, Tanya moved into a Workplace Trainer and Assessor position within the organisation, and within two years was offered the position of Training Services Manager.  Her role has now changed to Compliance Manager, which involves the compliance and monitoring of both the “training arm” of the organisation, and also all of the government funded contracts that they deliver. 

Tanya loves “living life, listening to music, spending time with family and friends and wine tasting”, with her “chill time” normally spent going to the beach, the movies, or the local shopping centre for some retail therapy. Tanya is sponsored by the Rotary Club is Bundaberg East. 

 

Sharee Lewis

 

Sharee (35) has lived in North Queensland most of her life and has been a police officer for 16years. There are 4 other police officers (2 retired) in her family. Formerly Sharee was a detective in the Juvenile Aid Bureau, but currently is a Senior Sergeant in charge of training for the Mackay District. With a staff of 3, Sharee co-ordinate and facilitate training programs for approximately 320 police and staff members covering an area of approximately 70,000 square kilometres. She has served in remote outback communities as well as major regional centres. 

 

Sharee is a self confessed work-a-holic, shop-a-holic and choc-a-holic. (Not necessarily in that order).  She enjoy relaxing with friends, spending time outdoors, and playing with her two very cheeky Cavalier King Charles Spaniels - Dixie and Jemma, but enjoy my own peace and quiet as well.  Sharee also enjoy travelling, reading, surfing the net, and cooking although never seems to have enough time to do any. Sharee is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sarina.

Peter Hockings

 

Peter Hockings (32) was born in Toowoomba and spent the best part of his educational years there.  After graduating from Agricultural Engineering at the University of Southern Queensland in 1998 he moved to Bundaberg. Having grown up in rural surrounds, his passion is for the rural lifestyle.  Peter pastimes include: camping, rodeos, four-wheel driving, bushwalking and horse riding.  He also have a penchant for country music, history and cooking.

 

Peter has developed a strong interest in human behaviour and change management.  His career has given him experiences in sugarcane and horticulture (fruit, vegetables and nuts), particularly in mechanical engineering; irrigation research and development; water supply and land management legislation; and most recently natural resource management.
